The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has formalized a partnership with the Connecticut Main Street Center (CMSC) to ensure companies in central business districts of cities and towns have access to SBDC programs and services.
“This partnership could not come at a better time,” said John Simone, president and CEO of CMSC. “The health of our small businesses on our Main Streets is critical to a vibrant downtown, and we all know how challenging the current economy is for all businesses.”
While any small business can take advantage of SBDC’s services, the goal of this partnership is for Main Street executives to develop close relationships with SBDC’s business advisors to ensure the needs of Main Street merchants are being addressed, as well as to build personal relationships with the merchants so the business owners are aware of, and comfortable with, taking advantage of the services that are right for them.
“This partnership brings SBDC to the heart of the city,” said Ginne Rae Clay, State Director of the SBDC. “It is critical for us, especially in these difficult times, to reach out and assist in the growth and stabilization of as many businesses as possible, and this relationship takes us directly to the businesses that are the face of Connecticut’s Main Streets.”
